The Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Army) Jammu is an office under the office of the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) and is headed by the Principal Controller. It was established in 1964 as an Accounts Office and was subsequently upgraded to the office of joint CDA (NC) in 1972 and CDA (NC) Jammu in 1974. The current office building at Satwari was inaugurated in 1997 and the status as office of PCDA (NC) Jammu was granted in the year 2000. Now, this office has been again renamed as PCDA (Army) with effect from --/09/2023. The office is located near the Northern Command (Army) to provide efficient and prompt service.

The main functions of the office as audit, payment an accounting of bills to the office and officials of the Northern Command. This office covers the area from Pathankot to the northernmost part of India i.e. Leh in Union Territory of Ladakh. The sub-offices under the office such as Area Accounts Office (Pay), PAOs, AOs GE and Local Audit Offices are located near the units and formations to provide timely services to them.
